That is the frequency of our posts lately. Seems to be trending that way – all part in parcel with having a baby and living in North America I guess. But that’s not to say I can’t make this an enjoyable monthly occurance
So what has the Lake family been up to lately? Well, a cool thing Laura and I did was go to the TSO to hear a Louis Armstrong type guy – wish I could remember his name ’cause he was good. The funny thing though, was that we were sitting one section over from my Grandma, Aunt Marg, and Uncle Mike! They have seasons tickets and we happened to get tickets right there next to them!
What else? Well, I had a birthday! I am now 27 years old. That’s right – mid-to-late 20′s… at least for another 6 months, then I will concede to being LATE-20′s. Anyway, enough of that nonsense. I had a great birthday this year. Laura let me sleep in and made me a big breakfast, which I love. And she made possibly the best salmon dinner I have ever eaten. I also got a care package from my sister Bree containing 2 lbs of Starbucks coffee (THANK YOU!!!!!!), and my mom gave me a big bottle of Bailey’s (mmmmmmmm!!!).
Oh and we took Kylah on her first trip to the Science Centre! That was fun – there was a Marvel Comic section there which was neat. You got to see how the different heroes powers worked from a scientific perspective. I’m sure Kylah didn’t understand what was going on but it was pretty cute.
And this past weekend I flew out to Winnipeg and drove all the way out to Whitedog, Ontario… click here for a Google map. And why would I be all the way out there you ask? Well, I am on the board of directors for Agidasin Initiatives, which is a ministry to First Nations founded by my friends Austin and Rachel Taylor. They live in Whitedog (which is an Aboriginal reserve) with their daughters Joanne and Bella (see photo album). That was a great time for me – my first trip to Whitedog, so seeing Austin and Rachel in their place of home and ministry was so great. That is interesting stuff – being on a Board – and boy do we have lots to learn about it.
Okay, finally some news on Kylah’s hemangioma. We finally got the call to arrange an appointment for an MRI for Kylah, which should answer some more questions about the hemangioma, such as how deep does it go, should it be treated, etc. That is December 6, so please keep us in prayer and hopefully we’ll have results back shortly thereafter. I have heard it can take a couple of weeks to get results, but we will see.
Well that’s about it for the sum-up of our November. As always, I will let the photos tell some more of the story.
