Hi Everyone… this is proud mama Laura here!
Sorry it’s taken me so long to write a post but I’ve been a little busy these days. I’m sure you all understand. 
This has to be short and sweet but I wanted to share with you all that Kylah gave us her first BIG smile today. We caught it on video for you all to see! I promise I will write more soon but for now enjoy this super cute clip!!!
Well before I get into the sleeping bit, first off I want to say Pampers rock and Huggies are CRAP. We got a sample of Huggies (have been using Pampers from day 1) and decided to try it on Kylah to see if they were any good, especially since they are less expensive. Noonie (Josh’s mom) bless her heart was visiting and bore the brunt of the leaky diaper as Kylah wet it and the entire deposit proceeded to flow out the top of the diaper. Sooooo new parents or disgruntled Huggies users beware… spare the dime, do a lot more laundry.
Okay so tonight was a first – I was taking a video of Kylah and completely filled up my memory card!! I never thought it would happen. I guess that is good news for you because there are a lot of new things to post. From the photos we took lately, I decided to put together a “Kylah’s Sleeping Album”:
And we have some non-Lake-family news – baby Tompkins was born this week, and IT’S A GIRL: Sloan Grace Tompkins. Cute. I only have one photo, and here it is:
And a good thing about having a girl is you can dress them up in pretty little outfits. Here’s one Laura put on Kylah for her first shopping trip:
And tonight we went for a quick visit to my good friend Phil’s house where we FINALLY met his daughter Violet. She is 10 weeks older than Kylah, and looks sooooo much like Phil, except she’s a lot cuter. Must take after her mother Bonnie after all

Okay so we have all been praying that Kylah get back to her birth weight of 9 lbs 5 oz after she went down to 8 lbs 7 oz before we left the hospital, and Laura and I have had to take Kylah into the doctor’s for frequent weigh-ins to make sure she is gaining.
Well weigh-ins no more – she came back after yesterday’s visit at 9 lbs 11 oz!!!!! That’s a 1 lb weight gain in only one week!! haha. So the doctor calmly says to Laura… “Ummm I don’t think you need to be waking her up during the night for feedings.”
Thank you so much to all of you who have been praying for us. This is certainly a great answer to our prayers.

I was so happy this morning to get an email from my sister Bree with several photos of my neice Zoe!! She is growing up so quickly – I can’t wait to see her this summer when they all come for a visit! Here are the pictures of Zoe that Bree sent:

Kylah has an appointment today to get weighed, so we’ll let you know how that goes. We think she’s doing well because now the diapers are getting tighter Here’s praying for a chubby baby!!!
