Okay, calm down – Laura’s only got one in there. But looks like I might have one too!!

I got the chance to try on a pregnant suit with a 35 lb belly!! I tell you it makes me have more understanding for what Laura is going through. Try to tie up your shoes with that hanging off the front of you! Oh and standing up from a sitting position… MAN THAT IS HARD!!! I can only imagine what it’s like trying it without the full use of your stomach muscles! Kudos to all the pregos out there :)

Josh’s Belly Craft!!!!

Soooooo…. this is my first blog on lakefamily.ca!!!! I’m excited! This is a really really good one to start off too!

Josh had been sneaking around and planning a couple of things for our time off this week. For one of them he had to go somewhere to grab “supplies”. I was absolutely dumbstruck as to what those “supplies” could be. He has always been really creative when planning activities and dates for us so I knew anything was possible. He’s especially good at thinking of cheap but still really fun things to do!

So, I really do love surprises but I don’t like knowing about a surprise and being kept in the dark. I kept trying to get it out of him but he would not give in. Finally, lastnight he decided to fill me in!

He brought out a Michaels bag and in it had the makings of a BELLY CAST!!!! I was so excited!! He thought of the idea all on his own! I never once dropped a hint to him throughout this pregnancy that I’d like to do that! BIG brownie points for him!

We were going to do the cast lastnight but we had been walking around all day and were super exhausted. Plus, I was a little swollen so I wasn’t exactly feeling beautiful. We rented a couple of movies and ordered some chinese (maybe not the best food when you’re swelling up like a marshmallow but good nonetheless).

After a nice sleep in, breakfast and some tv, we decided to get started!! It’s a very messy craft so there was lots of newspapers and garbage bags around. It got a little hot and I almost fainted… poor Josh had to run to get me some orange juice and open the windows but it was all very worth it.

My husband is great… what a perfect way to celebrate this pregnancy and baby. It’s a beautiful piece of art if I do say so myself. ;)

This is what peacefulness looks like. Note the strategic pillow position, and guys will notice that yes… she may be unconscious but she is STILL holding the remote.

TSOundcheck – amazing deal.

Okay, so as I mentioned, Laura and I went to the TSO lastnight to hear some great classical music. I have to tell you – the music was fantastic! The whole evening was great. We started out by having dinner at Milestones – Laura had a steak, I had a seafood meal (not normal for me, but I wanted to try it… wasn’t bad). Now the seats were bought through TSOundcheck so we had no idea where they were going to be. Turns out we were in section C4, which is just to the right of centre in the first balcony. I don’t think we could have had better seats. We could see the whole orchestra, and the sound was just incredible.

So anyone between the ages of 15 and 29, please the next time you are considering going out to a movie, instead go to tsoundcheck.com and go to the symphony!! It costs the same, but it is sooooo much better.

Laura enjoyed herself too. It was funny though – after the first piece, this guy with a MASSIVE HEAD sat right in front of her and then was leaning forward to he blocked half the stage. He and his wife were also fully making out right in front of us during the piece!!! I couldn’t believe it. As you can imagine it was very distracting. Anyway, we ended up moving over where we could see the whole stage again and massive head smoochie couple wouldn’t bother us.

Here is us outside Roy Thompson Hall waiting to go in.

As I mentioned before (in the old blog) Laura and I have done some camp fairs for Muskoka Woods over the last few weeks – at one point there we had worked for 12 straight days including some evenings. Normally that wouldn’t be as big a deal but things change when one of you is over 30 weeks pregnant and is tired on a normal day…

So anyway, we banked our lieue days and were able to effectively get a 6 day weekend! Today is the first day of said weekend, and I have to tell you I’m loving it so far. It is currently 10:47 AM on a Wednesday, and I just rolled out of bed… heck I haven’t even gotten out of bed yet, while normally by now I would have been up for several hours, having driven an hour to work, returned several emails, done some research, and probably fixed at least 2 computer problems. I think I could get used to this.

Anyway, we have some plans aside from lounging around – tonight we are going to the Symphony (TSO).  Thanks to Chris Tompkins for this tip: TSO has this program for 15 to 29 year-olds to attend the symphony at an outrageously low cost.  It’s called tsoundcheck.  So instead of paying anywhere from $34 to $115 per ticket, tsoundcheck lets us in for $12 each tax in!!!  Like I said – outrageous!!  So anyway, we are going to an Orchestral Showpiece conducted by Charles Dutoit tonight.  Both Laura and I are looking forward to it.  I’ll let you know how it turns out.
